Nigeria Used-Car RFQ: Turn a China Price Listing into a Quote-Ready Buyer Brief

A practical RFQ template for Nigerian dealers comparing China-sourced used vehicles: destination, quantity, budget basis and the evidence needed before a quotation.

A vehicle listing is a useful opening price, not a complete import quotation. For a Nigerian dealer considering China supply, the fastest next step is a specific buyer brief. It lets the seller check a matching vehicle instead of sending a generic stock catalogue.

Start with the destination, not a country label

State the requested arrival port and final delivery city separately. “Nigeria” alone does not say where the seller’s responsibility ends, which transport legs are included, or who handles local clearance. If your broker has a preferred route, name it. A possible route still needs an actual booking and cost check; it is not a promised sailing.

Define what the budget covers

Write the currency and whether the ceiling means vehicle-only, export-port, or total landed cost. Ask for the named delivery term and location. Vehicle price, export preparation, origin transport, freight, insurance and destination charges should be identifiable, with exclusions and estimates labelled. Do not use a website price as a local resale-margin calculation.

Send a purchase brief that can be answered

Copy this into your first enquiry:

Business name and role:
Preferred make/model and acceptable alternatives:
Year range, fuel type and mileage ceiling:
Quantity and intended purchase date:
Budget, currency and what the budget includes:
Requested arrival port and final city:
Local customs broker, if appointed:
Required inspection evidence and known disqualifying conditions:
Preferred reply channel:

If a detail is not decided, write “to confirm.” An honest gap is more useful than a guessed number that later becomes a dispute.

What needs checking before a firm quotation

Ask whether the exact vehicle is still available, whether its specifications and identity match the evidence, and whether any disclosed repairs change your decision. Import eligibility, valuation, taxes, documentation and local registration must be checked for the specific vehicle with current authoritative information and your local broker. This article supplies no Nigerian tax rate, age limit or automatic eligibility assurance.

For alternatives from other supply countries, compare the same condition, specification, cost boundary and evidence standard. A clean-looking photo and a lower opening price alone do not prove a better purchase.

Ask for one relevant comparison

Rather than requesting “all cheap cars,” name one model and one alternative. Ask for a dated breakdown and a list of unresolved items. Decide whether to advance only after those items are answered.

Send your Nigeria buyer brief to UCarsea. You can also browse current vehicle listings. Listing prices and stock status must be reconfirmed before purchase; this guide is a procurement checklist, not a legal opinion or final quotation.
